Young Adult Author Rendezvous is proud to announce our first ever International Young Adult Short Story Competition!

If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, and you believe you have a story to tell, then we would love to read it! There is no charge for entry, and just for sending in a story, you may choose a free e-book from the incredible YAAR library!

All stories must be between 500 and 2000 words in length, and must contain no explicit sex, violence, or profanity. The deadline for entry is November 30th, 2016.

Please send all entries – in either Word Doc or PDF format, if possible – to yaarendezvous@gmail.com. Please also include a filled out entry form (see below) that includes your name, your age, your school and hometown, and the genre category from the list below:

Contemporary
Sci-Fi/Dystopian
Horror/Thriller
Fantasy/Paranormal

As previously stated, all entrants will receive an e-book of their choosing from the YAAR library just for entering. In addition, the following prizes will be given out at the conclusion of judging:

$50 Amazon gift card (1 winner)

$20 Amazon gift card (2 runner-up winners)

In addition, two winners in each category will have their stories published on the YAAR website, and notifications will be sent out with all of our other social media sites.

Contestants may send in multiple entries, but no more than one per genre category.

All stories will be reviewed by a panel consisting of several YAAR members. Entries will be judged on not only how good the story is but on how clean (re: free of typos and grammatical errors) it is. So please, make sure you edit it before you send it in!

Winners will be announced in January 2017.
